Both reach the same dispatcher. There is no contact form on this site and no email address to chase — a refrigeration fault is faster to describe out loud than to type.

Have these ready

  • Model and serial number — inside the fresh food compartment, usually on the left wall behind the top drawer
  • What the unit is doing, in plain words, and roughly when it started
  • Whether it is a column, a drawer unit, an undercounter or wine storage, and whether it is panelled
  • Anything already tried — a reset, a defrost, a filter change
Before you dial

The four questions that come up every week.

What does the visit cost?

A flat $95 service call covers the trip and the full diagnosis. If you approve the repair, that amount comes off the total. You are told the parts-and-labour figure before any work starts.

Do you work on integrated units behind cabinet panels?

Yes. Panel-ready columns, drawers and undercounter units are most of the work on this coast. Trim and panels are removed and refitted as part of the call.

My unit is cooling but noisy. Is that worth a call?

Usually, yes. Noise that has changed character is one of the few early warnings refrigeration gives you — a condenser fan bearing or an evaporator fan blade catching on ice is cheap to deal with now and expensive to ignore.

How should I get ready for the visit?

Have the model and serial number to hand, clear the run in front of the unit, and if the fault is intermittent, note the times of day it happens. That last one saves more diagnostic time than anything else.

What the visit is, exactly

5.0 out of 5 from 549 reviews

  • Refrigeration only

Columns, drawers, undercounter units and wine storage. No ranges, no laundry — one family of appliances, worked on every day.

  • Readings before parts

Suction and discharge pressures, evaporator and condenser temperatures, defrost circuit resistance. A part is ordered because a number says so.

  • Salt air is part of the job

Condensers on the peninsula load up with salt and grit far faster than they do inland, and a fan motor seizes years earlier for it. Both get looked at on every call.

  • Panels come off carefully

Integrated units live inside cabinetry that was built around them. Trim, hinges and toe kicks are removed and refitted, not levered.

  • The causeway was flooded at high tide so he rerouted and still made the window. A fan blade had cracked and was clipping the shroud. Quick swap, and he checked the door seal while he was in there.

    Sylvia N. Marblehead Neck ★★★★★

  • Once the humid stretch hit in August the cabinet could not stay down where it should. The glass door seal had flattened. New seal plus a condenser clean and it holds now even on the worst days.

    Grantham E. Marblehead Neck ★★★★★

  • Narrow lane, nowhere to park, and he still turned up when he said he would. The control board had failed and the readout was stuck on one number. Ordered the part and fitted it four days later.
